Accommodation overview: The Farriers details
The Farriers is a sunny Cotswold stone cottage situated in the heart of the picturesque village of Southrop.
The village is criss-crossed with footpaths, some of which lead to the River Leach, and others to the neighbouring villages of Eastleach and Hatherop. The church in Southrop dates back to 1086 and is mentioned in the Doomsday Book.
The famous gastropub the Swan is within a few minutes' stroll of the cottage and reservations are advised. There is a Wednesday Shop and Post Office held in the Village Hall selling supplies from Sainsburys, and the Southrop Estate also has a shop selling a selection of kitchen/dining goods and household accessories.
Southrop Manor also offers cooking classes which are held in the Tithe Barn and can be booked direct with them in advance of your stay.
High speed trains to London Paddington are available from Swindon (12 miles) or Charlbury (17 miles).
Southrop is two miles from the A361 Burford-to-Lechlade road.

Rose & Crown House was built in the early C17th as a merchant's house and for most of the C19th and early C20th used as an inn. The building is Grade II listed and is mentioned in Pevsner's the Buildings of England. It has a very period feel and has some panelling and exposed wooden beams throughout.
Chipping Campden is arguably the most attractive of the larger Cotswolds wool villages and the High Street where Rose and Crown House is located was described the the historian Sir George Trevellyan as the most beautiful village street now left in this island. Accommodation overview: Bullens Bank Cottage is a holiday property which has one of the most spectacular views imaginable. It is, literally, amazing. Situated on the edge of the hillside it looks out towards some stunning English countryside, for miles and miles. Internally this holiday cottage is very cosy and traditional: secluded, low ceilings plus wood burning stoves all adding to the appeal of this 200 year old building.
