The White Cliffs of Dover, also National Trust, are internationally famous and home to five miles of coast and countryside. Most of the chalk downland along the clifftops are a Sight of Special Scientific Interest, an Area of Oustanding Natural Beauty and Heritage Coast with interesting flora and fauna. The Gateway to the White Cliffs visitor centre boasts spectacular views and introduces the visitor to the area with imaginative displays and explanations. Shops 1½ miles. An interesting day trip leads to Battle, the site for the most famous land battle in British history. Battle Abbey dominates the town and offers audio-visual tours on the battle itself. A ten-minute drive from Battle leads to Hastings, a popular seaside resort with many attractions that are sure to keep everyone entertained and amused.
