As the name suggests, the property was once the bakery for this beautiful 16th Century Manor, a house steeped in history and quite simply a stunning location. 2 The Oaks is a beautiful 19th century semi-detached sandstone cottage, situated in a very quiet rural location between Hereford and Ross-on-Wye, both seven miles away. The cottage is a mile from the village of Hoarwithy which has a brilliant local pub (the New Harp Inn) situated next to the River Wye, which serves excellent food and local beers and also houses a small convenience shop.
This is a wonderful walking location with direct access to footpaths from the garden. Cycling can also be enjoyed by following the many bridleways and tracks in the area.
Monmouth lies 15 miles to the south with its wonderful castles, and white water canoeing is just 10 miles away at Symonds Yat. The Forest Of Dean is around 20 miles away, and has many attractions including cycling, mountain biking, walking, a steam railway, Hopewell Colliery Museum and Go-Ape. Just over the border the Brecon Beacons await. To the North West (50 minutes' drive) is the border town of Hay-on-Wye, famous for its Literature and Arts festival.

There is easy access to attractions such as stately homes, parks and gardens as well as the historic cathedral city of Hereford and ancient market towns Ledbury and Ludlow, the latter of nationwide fame for its many high quality restaurants. The nearest town, Leominster (BR Station) 10 minutes away, offers excellent shopping facilities and Worcester (M5) can be reached in 30 minutes. The area offers fantastic walking, cycling, fishing, and horse riding facilities. Hampton Wafre Cottage comes with fishing in its own idyllic location - please bring your own fishing tackle.
The cottage is some 135 miles from London, 58 miles from Birmingham, 158 miles from Manchester, and 54 miles from Cardiff. It will take you approximately two hours 40 minutes from London by road. Train stations are located at Worcester, Hereford and Leominster. Leominster train station is some seven minutes by road.

The Grade II listed Hop Kiln adjoins Great Catley in a stunning rural setting with wildlife, footpaths and cycle routes surrounding it and the Malvern Hills in the distance. The property, which dates back to the 16th century, was once a working hop and cider farm but now comprises luxurious living within a traditional stone and oak structure with many old features that were used at that time for hop making.
It is situated in the hamlet of Catley, a mile from the village of Bosbury and only 20 minutes from the M50. Two local pubs are within a mile and a half, the Bell at Bosbury and the Oak at Staplow. Both serve local ales, excellent food and take-outs. The area is a perfect retreat for exploring the beautiful Herefordshire countryside.
The old town of Ledbury has its traditional black and white buildings but within them are a very eclectic range of independent shops and restaurants. Old Burfa is a late 15th century house which has been extensively refurbished and restored over the last 30 years. Its retained charm, making it an unusual house that many like to visit.
Located in the hamlet of Evenjobb overlooking the Brecon hills, Old Burfa is just 18 miles west of Leominster.
There are many attractive towns that are nearby. Presteigne and Kingston offer a variety of good quality shopping including a thriving craft industry.
