Accommodation overview: Less than a ten minute walk from Fistral beach and with delightful views of the Gannel Estuary and National Trust land towards Crantock beach, this comfortable and spacious split level detached house is set on the hillside just half a mile from Pentire Headland.  The house was architecturally designed in the 1970's and still retains the charm of the era.  It is perfectly situated in a sheltered position on a south facing slope with lovely coastal walks nearby and just a mile from the harbour and town of Newquay

Approached from the gated driveway where there is parking for 2 cars, a few steps lead down through the garden to the front door which opens to an entrance hallway at mid level and an adjacent twin bedroom overlooking the tree shaded lawn.  From the hallway, a short flight of carpeted stairs leads up to a large open plan split level dining and living area.  The bright and sunny sitting area has comfortable leather furniture.  The lounge opens out through wide patio doors to a timber railed balcony.  From here there are stunning views over the rear garden and the tidal estuary across to Crantock beach and the sea beyond.  Also on this level is a well equipped fitted kitchen sharing the same marvellous views.

On the ground floor there is a shower room W.C. with hand basin, a bathroom W.C. with vanity basin and sunken bath.  There are two further bedrooms; a twin bedded room and the master bedroom with a 5ft double and views of the River Gannel

At the rear of the property, a pretty landscaped garden built into the hillside has a paved terrace with lovely views of the river Gannel as the tide ebbs and flows. There are several areas of lawn well screened with mature trees and shrubs.  Beyond the gate at the bottom of the garden, a rough hillside path with a very steep descent leads to the water front where it is possible to swim when the tide is in – only for the more adventurous.

The nearest pub and local store are within a ten minute walk and for a wider choice of shops, pubs and restaurants Newquay is one mile.  There are several excellent beaches nearby, including Crantock and Fistral with its fine golden sands and surfing centre which is the nearest about half a mile away.  There is an abundance of visitor attractions in Newquay including a cinema, zoo, aquarium and waterworld leisure park.  Riding stables, golf, a bowling alley and boating lake are all close by and a regular bus service operates to Newquay town and railway station. Sherrin in Bull Point Lighthouse, Devon, South West England

Sherrin, Bull Point Lighthouse, Devon, South West England

Sleeps 5
Weekly prices from £337

Self catering accommodation in Bull Point Lighthouse sleeps 5.

Features include: • Pet friendly • Romantic Breaks • Close to the Beach • Close to the Sea • Cottage Sleeps 5

Accommodation overview:

Sherrin details

In association with Trinity House, Rural Retreats is pleased to present Sherrin at Bull Point Lighthouse.

Sherrin (with accommodation for five guests) is one of four refurbished former lighthouse keepers' cottages at the lighthouse which lies is just outside of Mortehoe in North Devon.

The perimeter of the site is fully fenced and gated but once outside this area, it is very dangerous for children staying at the holiday cottage. Strict supervision at all times is recommended, as not all guests will remember to keep the gate closed and locked.

This lighthouse does not have a fog signal.

Country access roads to some of the lighthouse sites are narrow with limited passing places and, dependent on the season and site, there is the possibility of overhanging vegetation due to cutting restrictions during bird breeding seasons or other environmental reasons.

Guests should be aware that the lighthouses and equipment need regular and sometimes emergency maintenance. Therefore visits by maintenance staff may occur at any time during the year. However, staff will do their best to ensure guest privacy at all times.
