Hope Cottage is traditional semi-detached Cotswold stone property in the picturesque village of Naunton. The village is situated alongside the River Windrush in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The cottage has been refurbished to modern standards, but retains character features including exposed wooden beams, a wood burning fire, inglenook fireplace and window seats. Scenic walks along the Warden’s Way can be joined a few metres from the door. The village boasts a 15th century church and medieval dovecote. The Black Horse, a traditional country pub (known locally for its good food) is less than 100 yards from the cottage.

Inglenook Cottage details

Inglenook Cottage is the epitomy of a chocolate-box cottage, and has featured on postcards, in books and in the press. It’s bursting with character and lies with many other thatched properties in the idyllic village of Broad Campden.

300 years old, the Grade II listed cottage used to be the village smithy, and it has a huge inglenook fireplace, complete with seat and bread oven. You can cosy up in front of a roaring log fire. Rose & Crown House was built in the early C17th as a merchant's house and for most of the C19th and early C20th used as an inn. The building is Grade II listed and is mentioned in Pevsner's the Buildings of England. It has a very period feel and has some panelling and exposed wooden beams throughout.

Chipping Campden is arguably the most attractive of the larger Cotswolds wool villages and the High Street where Rose and Crown House is located was described the the historian Sir George Trevellyan as the most beautiful village street now left in this island. Ebrington is one of the most exquisite villages in the North Cotswolds. It is peaceful, with unspoilt charm, a few miles from Chipping Campden and the famous gardens at Hidcote and Kiftsgate. The village inn serves delightful food and is CAMRA's North Cotswold pub of the year. The Ebrington Arms, only a two-minute walk away, is open Tuesday to Saturday 12pm to 3pm and then 6pm to 11pm and Sundays 12pm to 6pm. Rose Cottage is ideally located for visiting Stratford upon Avon, Warwick and Oxford.

Dovers Hill: owned by the National Trust, this has a superb view from which the Black Mountains in Wales can be seen on a clear day.
