This is the heart of Rob Roy country, at the foot of the Strathyre Forest. The hotel is family run and all facilities are available to cottage guests including two bars serving bar meals. Fishing permits for numerous lochs and rivers can be arranged at the hotel, as can other sporting activities, whilst the mountains in the area provide ample scope for hillwalking and climbing. Watersports, including ski-ing, sailing, parascending and windsurfing can be enjoyed at Lochearnhead (3 miles). There are 10 golf courses within easy reach. The bird reserves of the isolated and deserted Flow Country are nearby and this is also an ideal base for exploring the far north of Scotland - John o'Groats and the Orkney ferry are within reach for intriguing days out.
