Rosemundy Villa is a detached Grade II listed Georgian house set on the North Cornwall coast in the attractive village of St Agnes which is both a designated Area Of Outstanding Natural Beauty and a World Heritage Site. St Agnes lies nine miles north of the cathedral city of Truro and Newquay airport is easily accessible.

There is a good choice of local shops, restaurants and pubs within easy walking distance. St Agnes has two excellent sandy beaches; Trevaunance Cove ( a ten minute walk downhill) and Chapel Porth which is owned by the National Trust. Both are popular with all ages from families rock pooling to keen surfers. Surf lessons and equipment hire are available at Trevaunance Cove and coasteering and guided kayaking are further options. For the less adventurous St Agnes is known as a centre for arts and crafts and there are many workshops and galleries. It is also a superb area for walking including round St Agnes Beacon which is owned by the National Trust.

Accommodation overview: With partial views of the coastline and out to sea, this charming former coastguard cottage is set in a slightly elevated position above the lovely old Cornish fishing village of Port Isaac with the advantage of on-site parking.  One of a small row of double glazed cottages set in a quiet sheltered courtyard; it is just a couple of minutes walk down the hill to the picturesque harbour, famously known as the fictional setting of Doc Martin

The front door opens to a useful entrance lobby with cloaks cupboard and an inner door leads directly into a fully fitted kitchen/diner with a Cornish slate floor and dining table and chairs arranged in one corner.  To one side, an attractive warm and cosy sitting room has natural exposed stonework on one wall, a pine dresser and comfortable lounge seating arranged before the stone fireplace housing the multi fuel burner

In one corner of the sitting room, cottage stairs lead directly up to a small first floor landing, a modern shower room W.C. with heated towel rail and two pleasantly furnished bedrooms each with a wash basin.  There is a double bedroom and a master bedroom with the choice of a 6ft double or 3ft zip linked twin beds; both bedrooms have oblique views over the village, headland and sea. 

From the latter, an unusual first floor French door opens to a stoutly built wooden bridge leading directly out to the enclosed rear garden partly terraced into the hillside with steps up to a sloping lawn and a decked patio with views over the cottage rooftops to the sea and cliffs.  There is parking for one car directly outside the property and all the village amenities are a short walk down the steep hill where there are several good restaurants serving freshly caught fish and it is usually possible to watch the singers the Fishermans Friends perform on the quayside in summer evenings. 

There is also a pub offering food and a supermarket at the top of the village and for a wider choice of amenities the market town of Wadebridge is about 9 miles.  Port Isaac and Port Gaverne have small shingly beaches at low tide and the glorious sandy beaches on the Camel Estuary, including Polzeath, Daymer Bay and Rock are all approximately a 15 minute drive.  The South West Coast Path meanders out of the village in both directions offering spectacular scenery and there are watersports and three golf courses within easy reach.

A central hallway gives access to a sitting room with a high ceiling and comfortable lounge seating facing the fireplace and French windows open to a lovely conservatory with casual seating and tranquil views over the mature garden.  There are three pleasant bedrooms: a spacious master bedroom with a double bed, a smaller double bedroom and a single bedded room.  A bathroom W.C. with hand basin, heated towel rail and shower over the bath and an additional cloakroom W.C. completes the accommodation. 

The extensive sloping garden which surrounds Cregaminnis is ideal for older children to let off steam however toddlers, young children and pets will require supervision as there are some steep unprotected areas.  The seaside village of Perranporth is just over 1 mile away and has a wide expanse of fine golden sand popular with surfers and families alike with a selection of shops, pubs, restaurants, and surf hire facilities suitable for everyday needs.

The nearest pub is at Bolingey which can be reached via a local footpath or 1 mile by road and there are also traditional village pubs in Mithian, St Agnes and Cubert all within a 5 mile radius.  There is a golf course and riding stables close by in addition to breathtaking cliff walks ideal for birdwatching at Cligga Head.  The cathedral city of Truro is about a 15minute drive.

A carpeted staircase leads up in one corner of the lounge to the first floor landing, a family bathroom W.C. with hand basin and shower over the bath and three attractive bedrooms with natural wooden floorboards.  There is a master bedroom with a double bed and en-suite shower room W.C. and hand basin, a smaller double bedroom and a twin bedded room.  A large gravelled car park at the rear has ample parking space for one car per property. 

The village itself offers a wide selection of shops, restaurants and inns and Tintagel Castle famous for its myths and legends of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table is within easy walking distance.  The sandy beaches of Trebarwith Strand, Bossiney Cove, Polzeath and Daymer Bay are a short drive away as are the picturesque fishing villages of Boscastle and Port Isaac
