It is the original cottage of the Woodwells farmstead (marked on an 1847 map) and is a location particularly popular as a meeting place for sociable pheasants! The cottage is at the end of a track and is best described as a truly peaceful location, ideal for those who like to get away from it all. Accommodation overview: A pretty 17th century detached cottage full of charm and character, the old forge was once part of the Earl of Wharncliffe's estate and is set beside a narrow road in the ancient borough of Bossiney, just half a mile from Tintagel, the legendary birthplace of King Arthur and a 10 minute walk from Bossiney Cove.

Sympathetically furnished to compliment many original features, the cottage has slight changes of level and is entered from the road by a few steps leading up to the front porch and an inner glazed door opens directly into a light and sunny sitting room with an electric living flame fire in the stone fireplace, warm and comfortably furnished.

An inner hallway leads to a bathroom W.C. with hand basin and shower over the bath and an attractive double bedroom, with a 5ft bed and deep window seat looking across to the methodist chapel and Bossiney Mound, famed for where Sir Francis Drake was proclaimed MP.

A pleasant dining room, with oil fired Rayburn for background heat in the colder months, still has the original ledge and brace door leading out to an extension at the rear with a bright and spacious modern fitted kitchen with a double oven and a window overlooking the sheltered garden. The back door opens from here to a pretty little cottage garden with mature shrubs and 3 steps leading up to the lawn area surrounded by a cornish stone and hedge border.

Parking for one car is available on the sloping drive at one end of the property. The nearest beach is Bossiney Cove which has fine sand at low tide reached by a 10 minute walk down a fairly steep incline. The famous ruins of Tintagel castle and Merlins sea cave below are approximately 1 and a half miles. King Arthurs Great Halls / Information Centre and a good selection of local shops, pubs and restaurants are within one mile. The attractive NT harbour at Boscastle is 3 miles and the coastal footpath is very close by leading to the dramatic Rocky Valley. St Nectans Glen is approximately 1 mile.

Approached by a long and narrow unmade lane and gated gravel driveway with parking for at least 3 cars, a sloping path and a series of steps lead down to the front door which opens to a useful entrance porch.  An inner door leads directly into the bright and sunny kitchen area leading through to the adjacent dining room with a natural wood floor and views of the garden and countryside beyond.

The extensive sloping garden which surrounds Cregaminnis is ideal for older children to let off steam however toddlers, young children and pets will require supervision as there are some steep unprotected areas.  The seaside village of Perranporth is just over 1 mile away and has a wide expanse of fine golden sand popular with surfers and families alike with a selection of shops, pubs, restaurants, and surf hire facilities suitable for everyday needs.

The nearest pub is at Bolingey which can be reached via a local footpath or 1 mile by road and there are also traditional village pubs in Mithian, St Agnes and Cubert all within a 5 mile radius.  There is a golf course and riding stables close by in addition to breathtaking cliff walks ideal for birdwatching at Cligga Head.  The cathedral city of Truro is about a 15minute drive.
