Accommodation overview: Only a five minute drive to the lovely sandy beaches at Mawgan Porth & Watergate Bay this spacious accommodation is in the major part of a 200 year old extended double glazed cottage and provides an ideal base for a family to explore the dramatic coastline and many attractive beaches on the North Cornish Coast.
From the shared brick paved drive a couple of steps and stable door open into the entrance porch with a tiled floor and coat hooks. A further glazed inner door leads into the sitting room with a large double glazed window, wood burning stove with comfortable lounge seating. This light and spacious room leads onto the kitchen through a doorway opening into the bright and modern well equipped fitted kitchen with ample storage. A large archway leads through to the conservatory with a dining suite and an adjacent utility room with W.C. Sliding patio doors lead out to the securely enclosed walled courtyard garden from the conservatory with a sunny terrace, raised beds and a step up to a decking area.
A carpeted staircase leads to the first floor with three light and pleasant bedrooms, a Kingsize double with digital TV, a twin and a single all with storage and a family bathroom W.C with hand basin and shower over the bath.To the front of the property is a shared open brick paved drive with two reserved parking spaces for Lighthouse cottage. There is a pub in the hamlet within five minutes’ walk.
Mawgan Porth 1.5 miles has a pub, café, surf hire and local store and for a wider selection of amenities the resort of Newquay is 5 miles with many beaches, a zoo, leisure centre, bowling, cinema and aquarium. The famous harbour at Padstow is 9 miles where you can enjoy one of Rick Stein’s many eateries, visit the Elizabethan house at Prideaux Place, cycle the Camel trail to Wadebridge or take a ferry across to Rock with access to the beaches at Damer Bay and Polzeath by foot. For the water enthusiast the Extreme Academy at Watergate Bay provides many water based activities 1 mile away and is home to Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen restaurant. There are many golf courses in the area and the national Trust house Trerice and Lappa Valley Railway are within 6 miles.

This detached house, is set on the edge of a small woods, surrounded by the beautiful countryside off a small country lane - this is is a real cottage hideaway! The house which is a traditional Cotswold style with good size rooms (rather than open plan) which give it a sense 'swallows-and-amazons'! We say this is as remote as you can get from the twentieth century in Southern England! Woodwells is a picturesque farmhouse built in 1877, set in the midst of a sunny clearing of wooded hills and at the end of the meadows. The barn is located two miles from the Dorset villages of Martinstown and Portesham, four miles from Abbotsbury and six miles from the expanse of Chesil Beach.
Blagdon Lower Barn is totally secluded and is accessed via a 400m long drive from the road. An ideal location for an outdoor break in the Dorset countryside with a network of footpaths and bridleways running from the farm leading to a multitude of walks and expansive views of the coast; from the Monument Weymouth, Portland and almost all of Chesil Beach can be seen, a view of some 25 miles.
