Accommodation overview: French Windows to the front of the cottage lead directly into the open-plan ground floor with rustic board and beam ceiling, a slate floor and white painted stone walls.
To one side is a small neatly fitted galley kitchen with a ceramic two ring hob, combination microwave and a small oak dining suite. One step leads up beneath a timber archway to the seating area at the rear with period furniture, comfortable leather armchairs facing the wood burning stove and a window overlooking the sunny terraced area.
A narrow winding staircase leads up to the delightful bedroom with a canopied beam ceiling, rustic pine floorboards and a king-size bed. A skylight allows visitors to watch the stars at night. A small en-suite bathroom W.C. with wash basin and a bath with hand shower fitment completes the accommodation.
The owner regrets that only adults will be accepted because of the potential danger of the river.

Accommodation overview: Heron Cottage is a very good quality holiday cottage, located within the heart of the Cotswold Water Park on the popular Lower Mill Village. The cottage is set in a quiet area of the Lower Mill and enjoys a decking area which looks towards a grassed area and Clearwater Lake beyond. This is a great location for families with superb facilities all within easy reach, but is also ideal for couples who want to relax with some brilliant walks (including the Thames Path) and also a good quality local pub, which is about 15 mins walk away. Internally the property is spacious and well appointed, absolutely ideal for summer and winter months alike, particularly with the french doors for outdoor dining in summer or the woodburning stove for winter. Naturally there is an abundance of nature on your doorstep (often literally!) while for the more adventurous there are the many sporting activities of canoeing, kyaking, sailing to name a few all within a short drive. Rampisham Hill Farm Barn is a light and airy barn that has recently been converted to a very high standard. The property is located in Thomas Hardy country in the Dorset Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, just outside the pretty village of Hooke and a short drive away from the small town of Beaminster and the beaches and cliffs of Dorset’s Jurassic Coast.
There are excellent walks and cycle rides across the West Dorset countryside directly from the property, with the Iron Age Fort of Eggardon Hill and the nature reserves of Kingcombe and Powerstock Common all nearby, along with many other historic towns and villages. The barn is located on a working sheep farm and guests are welcome to meet and help look after the animals.
A number of good pubs are within a 10 minute drive away such as The Three Horseshoes at Powerstock and the Acorn at Evershot. Also within a 10 minute drive are plenty of local services and conveniences found in either Maiden Newton or Beaminster.
