Garden lovers will be interested to know that the award-winning Docton Mill gardens are adjacent to the property and, in season, are well worth a visit as well as the mouth-watering cream teas. The village of Hartland is only 3 miles away and offers a choice of pubs serving food, shops and a Post Office. Other interesting places worth visiting nearby are Clovelly with its cobbled streets, sandy beaches at Sandymouth, which is just over the border in Cornwall, and Hartland Quay with its museum and history of wreckers and shipwrecks, remains of which can still be found around the rocky beaches of Hartland Point. Finally, many attractions such as The Big Sheep and The Milky Way offer excellent family entertainment.
