Thanks to the warming Gulf Stream palm trees grow easily here and just 1 mile away Westport's fine sandy beach is popular with windsurfers. Set on the owners' working farm Langa Cottage also lies within a short drive of world class golf at Machrihanish on the shores of the Atlantic and walking on the Kintyre Way from Tarbert to Southend is close by. Visitors can enjoy a tour and a 'wee dram' at the whisky distillery at Springbank and the Linda McCartney Memorial Garden is nearby. Trips to the islands of Gigha Islay and Jura are easily accessible and the airport (4 miles) has twice daily flights to Glasgow. Shops and pubs 3½ miles.

Accommodation overview: In a spectacular position, close to the shores of Loch Linnhe with panoramic views over the loch to the mountains of Kingairloch beyond, this charming semi-detached cottage is part of the original ferryhouse which is approx. 240 years old. With a fascinating historical background, the ferryhouse has been sympathetically modernised to create a holiday home of unique character with several features put back as they might have been originally. The large sunroom takes advantage of the wonderful views and the rooms are traditional and plain in style. There is an enclosed garden to the front and rear where a path leads down onto the beach. Bed linen and towels provided. The very picturesque village of Port Appin is an ideal base for exploring and Oban is within a 40 minute drive. Day trips can be enjoyed to Glencoe and Fort William or by taking the passenger ferry from Port Appin across to the island of Lismore. Cycle and boat hire can be arranged locally and other activities include fishing, pony trekking and hill-walking. The village shop is 30 yards from the property and there are two excellent restaurants nearby. 1 double and 1 twin bedroom,(cot available) spacious sun lounge, living/dining room with multi-fuel stove, compact kitchen, bathroom with shower over the bath . Accommodation overview: Treetops is a cosy first floor flat located on the charming Isle of Bute.  The island nestles just off the Cowal peninsula and can be accessed by ferry from Wemyss Bay or Colintraive. Treetops enjoys an elevated position overlooking the village of Ardbeg which sits between Port Bannatyne and Rothesay. From the lounge window the view is eastward over the sea, with a fantastic panorama of the Firth of Clyde, over to the Cowal hills and Wemyss Bay. Stables Cottage was indeed once a stable and it has been cleverly converted into unique holiday accommodation. The cosy, open plan lounge/kitchen area has all you require and the French doors lead out to a patio area and then down into a shared garden. When relaxing on the patio the sound of the river can be heard as it flows by and there is a lovely view to the hills beyond. The open wooden staircase leads up to the bedroom, which has a large, feature circular window, offering a fantastic view out onto the hills. A short 20 minute walk from the village leads down to a lovely sandy beach and there are several good walks close by. The local hotel is within walking distance and has a bar/restaurant. Accommodation overview: Aldersyde is a large detached traditional stone built house sitting on the hillside overlooking the quiet coastal village of Tighnabruaich on the Cowal Peninsula.  Aldersyde has space for all the family to spread out and enjoy their holiday.  There is a games room with table tennis and pool table, plus a small childrens playroom with toys and games.  The kitchen leads into the lounge which provides a very sociable area for everyone to be together.  There is one bedroom downstairs and three further bedrooms upstairs.  The two double bedrooms upstairs have a view to the sea.  The large garden is fully enclosed with a lawn to the side. This lovely bright and spacious semi detached, single storey cottage is located within a small cul-de-sac and is only a short stroll down to the beautiful rough shoreline and distillery itself.
