Accommodation overview: This 200 year old whitewashed detached stone cottage is set within 1.5 acres of cottage gardens and separate walled garden area. Situated down a quiet country lane in pretty countryside with dry stone walls, small bridges over tumbling rivers and lovely rolling hills this area is a real backwater, yet only 6 miles from the centre of Inverness, the capital of the Highlands. Craigellachie Cottage has lots of original features, including thick stone walls, deep silled windows and a cosy wood burning stove. It is beautifully presented and attractively furnished, with a modern kitchen boasting granite work surfaces and solid wood cabinets. The gardens and grounds are a real feature of the property. To the front and sides there is a lawned area with shrubs, surrounded by an attractive old stone wall. Outside the kitchen is a patio area with tables, chairs and a good sized BBQ. There is a large walled natural garden adjoining the cottage, which is mainly grassed with mature trees and shrubs. The Skye Bridge is 25 miles away and there are good shopping facilities in Kyle of Lochalsh and Broadford, both a half hour drive. The ferry from nearby Armadale crosses to Mallaig for access to the West Highland steam railway.
