Accommodation overview: Landgate Cottage is a well located holiday cottage situated moments from the Market Square in Stow. The cottage is a very good size for four people, but has the advantage of an extra bed if a fifth person wishes to travel*. The living room is particularly attractive with great views across the well tended (but of course!) allotments and fields beyond. The cottage also has two bathrooms which also make it suitable for two couples just as much for a family. Accommodation overview: The Coach House is a classic Cotswold property in so many ways. A converted barn (formerly the Coach House to the Vicarage as you'd expect!) it contains many attractive features that give it that traditional and welcoming feel. The huge, spacious living room with a vaulted ceiling, exposed beams, cream washed walls, oak flooring and open fire set the scene perfectly, with the idyllic view towards the village church simply gorgeous. The barn is set in the grounds of one of the finest houses in this village, and within one of the most 'sort-after' Cotswolds villages - Swinbrook. Within walking distance is the popular and highly regarded pub - The Swan. There are many walks from your front door, including one along the Windrush Valley to Burford. This self-catering luxury retreat is only a few minutes' walk from the upper reaches of Dovedale and Manifold Valley in the Peak District National Park. The Royal Oak, a good eating pub, is 100 yards away. Ivy House can be booked together with Reading Room (DE005), which is adjacent and sleeps four guests. There is an interconnecting door between the two properties with low headroom.

Accommodation overview: Robbie's Barn is a high quality holiday cottage set a peaceful hamlet on the edge of the northern Cotswolds, very close to Shakespeare's Stratford upon Avon. The cottage was recently modernised and has many ECO friendly modifications incl solar panels and ground source heat pump. Internally the cottage, which is on one level (ideal for limited mobility) is very warm, welcoming and homely with some delightful touches including beautiful oak beams and a wood burning stove. Robbie's is situated in Fulready which has easy access to Stratford, along with the Cotswolds towns of Moreton in Marsh and Stow in the Wold. We loved the owners' home grown produce which you are welcome to purchase! Pendleton Cottage is a lovely, detached one bedroom cottage ideally located on the edge of the Peak District National Park. This delightful, newly renovated property retains its original character, with beams and exposed stonework throughout.

The cottage is situated in the picturesque village of Alderwasley, in a peaceful and relatively undiscovered area just a few miles from Matlock. It makes a perfect base for walking in the beautiful Derbyshire countryside and is surrounded by woods and valleys, with stunning views.

Dogs are welcome and there are beautiful walks right from the door. The owners have prepared detailed maps and directions for walks around the cottages, so you can find the prettiest footpaths and best views (and avoid cows and other hazards!)

The well known Bear Inn is less than half a mile away, and you can walk across the fields, enjoying panoramic views of the surrounding hills and woodland.

The quirky, historic market town of Wirksworth is just two miles away, and has shops, pubs, a couple of very nice restaurants and several take-aways.

The area is rich in history and is within easy reach of the Derwent Valley Mills world heritage site, Matlock, Bakewell and Ashbourne, and the country houses of Chatsworth, Haddon and Hardwick.
