Accommodation overview: Coed-y-Gelli Cottage (Welsh Tourism Four Star Award)  is a beautiful and welcoming cottage set in a simply stunning countryside location. Dating back to the 1800's, this old milking parlour is situated a short distance from the pretty village of Llanarth, where you need to take a short drive through the woods to reach this tranquil setting. Today it is set on a working stud surrounded by 43 acres of open Wye Valley farmland and provides a relaxing cottage destination ideal for recharging the batteries while still being within comfortable distance of the western Cotswolds, the Wye Valley and Forest of Dean. Inside the holiday cottage, the open plan design creates spacious, light and airy accommodation that has been well furnished and equipped. Outside is a very large, shared garden that overlooks the surrounding countryside. There are footpaths and byways directly from the house and quiet country lanes for walking or cycling as well as Offa’s Dyke path (3 miles) and hill walking and nature reserves at Roundton and Corndon Hills near Church Stoke, some 4 miles distant as well as the Long Mynd, a scenic 40 minute drive away.

Montgomery town boasts a ruined 13th century castle (free entry and a perfect place for a picnic with spectacular views!); the Old Bell Museum of local history; two excellent tea rooms with delis; pub and Dragon Hotel bar; The Chequers Michelin starred restaurant and small supermarket (stocking local produce) with ATM; organic and homemade produce available at the Thursday and Saturday morning markets. Take a look at the ‘Taste Montgomery’ website for details of Tasting Trails in and around the area, sampling many of the delights of local produce. Other local attractions include Glansevern Hall Gardens and renowned Potting Shed Cafe, Gregynog Gardens and cafe, Powis Castle (NT) and Kerry Vale’s very own vineyard with tastings and vineyard tours.

Rail stations are at Welshpool and Newtown, (20 minutes away in either direction) where there are a range of shops including major supermarkets. Cwm Bach (Little Valley) is situated in the heart of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. Britain's only coastal nationalpark has a spectacular coastline with a variety of landscapes - from cliffs, arches and stacks, sea caves and sandy beaches to wooded estuaries with lakes, hills and moorland further inland. (In 2011, the park was voted as the second best coastal destination in the world by the National Geographic magazine.)

The cottage is set in a wooded hillside within its own secluded valley, 300m from the road. From outside the property there are views across Fishguard Bay, and often spectacular sunsets. Cwm Bach is a five-minute drive from the market town of Fishguard and the village of Newport which has excellent restaurants, an unspoilt sandy beach, horse riding, fishing and a links golf club that welcomes visitors.

The Pembrokeshire Coastal Path is a 10-minute walk from the property and there are also moorland rambles inland at Dinas. There are some which are easily walked from the property.

The area abounds in wildlife and the mild climate ensures that spring arrives early and autumn lingers. Trips to the offshore islands operate most months of the year - spring and autumn are the best times to see seals and porpoises.

More adventurous activities such as coasteering and kayaking are available, as are a number of theme parks.

Historical visitor attactions include Pembroke Castle in an idyllic setting on a river estuary and St David's Cathedral and Bishop's Palace (25-minutes' drive). Or go further back in time and visit a reconstructed iron-age fort.

The glorious scenery attracts artists and photographers, and there are many galleries to visit.
