Stainland is situated in the Pennines and is ideal for visits to both Bronte Country and the Peak District National Park. Set in West Yorkshire, there are super opportunities for varied walks in the lovely Calderdale valley, Holme valley as well as Saddleworth and Marsden Moors (NT). There is easy access to both Leeds and Manchester across the M62 - both cities providing excellent shopping, nightlife and restaurants. Within easy driving distance is the delightful village of Haworth with its cobbled streets, whilst Holmfirth to the south is the setting for the long running TV series Last of the Summer Wine. Marsden, on the Huddersfield canal, boasts the Stanedge tunnel - the highest, longest and deepest tunnel in Britain. Pub 2 miles.

Five 18-hole golf courses are nearby – Silloth’s is in the ‘Top 50’ and is a championship qualifying course. Many of the region’s country estates and historic houses such as Tatton Park, Arley Hall, Dunham House and Gawsworth Hall, to name but a few, are within easy reach and a golf course is on the doorstep. The historic village of Knutsford offers an abundance of top class restaurants and cafes together with its individual shopping facilities along its narrow streets. The Cheshire Smokehouse in Wilmslow is well worth a visit. The airport is miles, Manchester and the Trafford Centre, 8 miles, Old Trafford cricket ground, 15 miles. Chester and Liverpool are 28 miles and the Peak District, with its stunning scenery and many attractions is only 20 miles. Wales or The Lake District can be reached in 1-2 hours.
