Accommodation overview: The Old Bakehouse, is a self contained cottage that sits in the west wing of Wythall House. As the name suggests, the property was once the bakery for this beautiful 16th Century Manor, a house steeped in history and quite simply a stunning location. It sits within the Wye Valley countryside with large secluded grounds surrounding (including the family of ducks and chickens that roam freely!) with tranquility the order of the day! Internally the property comprises comfortable accommodation with two good sized bedrooms upstairs. The home retains all the character features that you would expect of a listed building namely beams, the original lead windows, and exposed walls. Set in the heart of the Wye Valley countryside, the 'cottage' is an ideal base from which to explore the area, including the market town of Ross on Wye. We see this as an excellent value for money holiday cottage with all basic amenities included. As one would expect with a property of such history there are delightful, mature gardens, which customers can enjoy (see below*), in fact the owners are able to offer seasonal 'home grown produce' to customers - wonderful!! Locally, the village of Great Somerford is a thriving community with an excellent local shop and pub both within a 5 minute walk. LOCATIONGreat Somerford (part of 'The Somerfords) is a traditional village situated in the southern Cotswolds, deep in the heart of Wiltshire's Clay Vale, sandwiched between the limestone belt of the Cotswolds and the chalklands of the Malborough Downs. Amongst a few 'claims to fame' is the fact that the village is believed to have the country's oldest allotment with notes  of a private growing dating back to 1809! Nearby is the market town of Malmesbury, which has a beautiful church, with Tetbury. 15 mins drive, an antique collectors heaven a little further away. Westonbirt Arboretum, with its amazing walks and forests is within 2o minutes drive. Bath, in particular, is a convenient drive away as are a wide variety of Cotswold attractions and attractive villages.

The Oat House is an attached property built in traditional style using mellow honey coloured Cotswold stone beneath a slate roof. The village of Snowshill is situated on the top of the Cotswold escarpment above the villages of Stanway, Stanton Broadway, Buckland and Laverton.

The village is secluded with period cottages and houses and a 19th century church clustered around a small green. Snowshill is renowned for its manor house with beautiful gardens and tea rooms which are administered by The National Trust. The Lavender Farm on the edge of the village also has tea rooms. The village pub, The Snowshill Arms, serves good food and is only a two-minute walk away.

Locally there are many public footpaths and close by is the Cotswold Way.

Nearby, picturesque Broadway offers a wide range of shops and restaurants. Chipping Campden, Cheltenham and Stratford upon Avon with its renowned Royal Shakespeare Theatre are all within easy reach.

For the sporting enthusiasts there are several golf courses nearby along with National Hunt Racing at Cheltenham, Polo at Cirencester Park and Cricket at Worcester.

Hampton Wafre Cottage has been converted from a 17th century stone barn. The detached cottage has its own private enclosed garden and is located half a mile up a private drive on a working arable farm. It enjoys a rural holiday location which offers country walks with stunning unspoilt views, indigenous wildlife and carp fishing exclusive to the cottage on a peaceful idyllically situated lake.

Docklow village is within easy walking distance and it is here that you will find the village pub, the Kings Head, which offers good hospitality, real ales, and simple meals. Docklow Pools are also located within the village which offer excellent fishing, together with their own pub and restaurant.

There is easy access to attractions such as stately homes, parks and gardens as well as the historic cathedral city of Hereford and ancient market towns Ledbury and Ludlow, the latter of nationwide fame for its many high quality restaurants. The nearest town, Leominster (BR Station) 10 minutes away, offers excellent shopping facilities and Worcester (M5) can be reached in 30 minutes. The area offers fantastic walking, cycling, fishing, and horse riding facilities. Hampton Wafre Cottage comes with fishing in its own idyllic location - please bring your own fishing tackle.

The cottage is some 135 miles from London, 58 miles from Birmingham, 158 miles from Manchester, and 54 miles from Cardiff. It will take you approximately two hours 40 minutes from London by road. Train stations are located at Worcester, Hereford and Leominster. Leominster train station is some seven minutes by road.
