The Old Bakery is a converted, period, beamed detached stone property that lies near the green in the village of Kingham. Kingham is an attractive village, situated within the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, built predominantly of Cotswold stone with some elegant tiled and thatch roofed cottages.

Accommodation overview: Ryeworth Cottage, Kingham is an exceptional Cotswold Holiday Cottage set in one of the areas most desirable and attractive villages, roughly equi-distant between Burford and Chipping Norton. The village has everything you could want for a Cotswolds' break, including award winning pubs and a comprehensive local store. It has many excellent walks surrounding it, but perhaps of great appeal to some is the convenience of the Daylesford Organic (described in The Telegraph as 'the UK's poshest shop'!!) The cottage, which is semi detached, is a simply stunning holiday home spread across four floors with spacious rooms throughout. The large welcoming living space, plus the three bathrooms (for three bedrooms) make this a thoroughly attractive option. However and perhaps most amazing, if this is possible, is the swimming pool and steam room (Turkish Hammam) which are of the highest quality and for guests' use. Even though it is short walk from the centre of this very popular Cotswolds market town, the property enjoys a super view overlooking a 4 acre paddock with ponies and chickens. (You can actually get some free-range eggs if you wish in your welcome hamper on arrival.) The property offers modern accommodation over two floors, with two ensuite bedrooms on the lower level, which may appeal to those with limited mobility. Externally the cottage, which is attached to the owner's home, has an enclosed garden to the front, along with a private side courtyard. By being on the edge of Stow on the Wold, you benefit from the of peace of the countryside, while being only a few minutes walk from the many restaurants, shops and cafes available. Local InformationSomerton is delightful village steeped in history dating back hundreds of years with mentions in the Domesday Book and also links to William The Conqueror after the Battle of Hastings. The church in particular (a Grade One listed building) is relatively famous in local circles for its historical significance. Somerton is no more than 15 mins outside Woodstock, the very popular Oxfordshire market town and just 15 miles from the centre of Oxford. The village also enjoys superb travel links with Bicester train station (to London Marylebone) 10 mins drive away or Junction 10 of the M40 no more than 3 miles away. The village sits on the northern side of the Oxfordshire Cotswolds with the River Cherwell and Oxford Canal both meandering through the edge of the village and just moments from this holiday cottage. The meadows at the river are absolutely perfect for evening 'sun-downers'. There are many walks to choose from, right from your door. The very famous and very popular Bicester Shopping Outlet Centre (or Bicester Village as it is called) is 10 mins away if shopping is your thing. There are a variety of good pubs in the locality, but none in the village. Of particular note is The Falkland Arms in Great Tew, one of the prettiest spots imaginable.
