The owner s stables are directly opposite the property. Nestling in a rural setting the converted loft is a few hundred yards walk from the village which has a 12th century pub whilst the Saints Way passes the property and offers excellent walking. The market town of Lostwithiel is close with shops restaurants and pubs as well as Restormel Castle which overlooks the River Fowey and makes a pleasant location for a picnic. The beautiful harbour of Fowey is also within easy reach where the renowned author Daphne Du Maurier lived. A festival is held each May which is a celebration of her life and work. Fowey Regatta week (August) is a popular event with competitive sailing events street carnival the Red Arrows display team and much more. The picturesque and unspoilt harbour of Charlestown is also worth a visit. Built in the early 19th century for the export of copper and china clay it is home to a collection of old ships which have been used in film projects and its Shipwreck and Heritage Centre has the largest UK collection of artefacts and treasure recovered from shipwrecks.You will be ideally placed to visit some of the many National Trust properties including Lanhydrock House with its extensive grounds. The Eden Project and Bodmin Moor are also easily reached as are the North Cornish coastal towns of Tintagel Port Isaac Boscastle and Padstow.
