Accommodation overview: Balmore Cottage has been recently renovated and beautifully refurbished to make a lovely holiday home in the centre of Southwold Pier Area - It is often said that nothing changes in Southwold. However, the much acclaimed pier was rebuilt in 2001 and was the first to be constructed in England in over 50 years. It now fits in well with the painted beach huts, promenade and colourful flowerbeds. There is a shop, cafes and an alternative amusement arcade there. The selection of properties hereabouts makes it an ideal location to stay in Southwold if you require quiet accommodation that is also close to the beach, town centre and the many footpaths across the marshes leading you to the less explored areas of the town. Accommodation overview: Duck Pond Cottage is beautifully positioned next to a one acre lake, a lovely situation for a peaceful holiday Reydon is only divided from Southwold by Buss Creek, a narrow stretch of water where the fishing boars (busses) of long ago used to tie up. All properties have easy access to the beaches and town centre amenities by road or the various footpaths. Reydon boasts two well-stocked village stores, as well as the Randolph Hotel which has an excellent restaurant and good locals' bar. Duck Cottage is a single-storey converted cottage set in the grounds of the owner's house. Beautifully positioned next to a one acre lake, stocked with fish, there are walks all around this quiet and peaceful area, yet it is only ten minutes drive to the sea and centre of Southwold. Hunstanton is a popular traditional seaside town, with a long sandy beach backed by distinctive striped cliffs. There are reminders of its Victorian origins including the promenade, the large green and the attractive esplanade gardens. Hunstanton town offers a host of activities for the family including a Sea Life Centre, a fun fair, tennis courts, bowling green and a sports and leisure centre with indoor swimming pool, crazy golf and pitch & putt course. A little further along is quieter Old Hunstanton, which is a picturesque village with mellow carrstone houses, an impressive medieval church and a championship golf course, there is also a new eighteen hole golf course at nearby Heacham Manor. The nature reserves at Scolt Head, Titchwell and Holme Dunes are just a short distance away. The coastal footpaths in the area are great for walking and bird-watching. The Royal Sandringham Estate is approximately eight miles away, a wonderful day out with its cycling, walking and picnic opportunities.
