Accommodation overview: The Potash is situated between Brandeston and Cretingham in a large garden, with views over fields and the upper reaches of the River Deben. The villages of Brandeston and Cretingham are between four and five miles south west of the historic market town of Framlingham, with its famous castle (Mary Queen of Scots was a prisoner there) and full complement of shops and pubs. Brandeston and Cretingham are surrounded by rolling countryside and each has a popular pub, a small village shop and a church. The Cretingham Golf Club is open to non-members and has a pay and play course. The Potash is situated between Brandeston and Cretingham in a large garden, with views over fields and the upper reaches of the River Deben. The house is detached and was mainly constructed in the 16th century. Thornham is a quiet picturesque village that forms part of the conservation area on the North West Norfolk Coast. There is a wide sandy beach and a small harbour, both of which form part of a local nature reserve. There are some excellent pub/restaurants in the village one of which has won an award in 2010. The coastal town of Hunstanton is just four miles away, it has a sandy beach and many attractions for children. The Coast Hopper bus can take you to Wells, the RSPB reserve at Titchwell and villages including Brancaster and Burnham Market, an excellent opportunity to leave the car behind and enjoy the scenery.
