Peak Hill Cottage is set in very quiet woodland, where deer, rabbits and other wildlife roam and is next to two farms, one selling organic produce. The local towns of Saxmundham and Leiston are a short drive away as is the train station with services into Ipswich and London.
For food lovers, there are many top quality restaurants, good family friendly tearooms, cafes, pubs, excellent farm shops and fish stalls within an easy drive.
The location is ideal for trips to the Heritage Coastal towns between Orford, Aldeburgh and the quintessential seaside resort of Southwold. Nearby are local castles and bird reserves, whilst further afield is the historic Sutton Hoo. There are many rural walks and local cycle hire and within a 15 -20 minute drive there is relaxed shopping at Snape Maltings or centres for golf, swimming, boating, tennis and world championship crabbing.

The Lawns - a large, late Edwardian/early Victorian double-fronted town house, situated within walking distance of the award winning Blue Flag beach at Sheringham.

Mentioned in the Domesday Book in 1086, the fishing town of Sheringham has an assortment of restaurants, shops and a twice-weekly market, all just a few minutes walk away. There is also a theatre hosting a variety of events.

Sheringham is the home of North Norfolk Railway, the Poppy Line, which offers steam train trips to the market town of Holt, as well as Weybourne and Kelling Heath Park. There is a Gala Day, held at the end of August, which features a range of locomotives.

Much of the North Norfolk coast has been designated as Area(s) of Outstanding Natural Beauty - guests can explore the area's many country walks and beautiful beaches. This is an area famous for birdwatching, especially in the winter months.

The market town of Holt is a short drive away and offers an array of individual shops, cafes and restaurants.

Laylands details

Laylands Cottage was the first building on the road to Wells-next-the-Sea and one of the earliest buildings in the 15th century town. It was originally built as an inn offering shelter to the drovers from the north bringing cattle and sheep to catch boats to the continent. The old settle where the drovers drank their ale still remains in the corner of the house.

Laylands Cottage enjoys an elevated position with views over a green belt conservation area. Not far ever, an old horse grazes in the field looking out beyond towards the Pinewoods and Wells beach. The house is detached with secluded front and rear gardens. The large rear garden, which is walled and south facing, has mature fruit trees and a large patio, perfect for outside dining.

The house is situated just a five minute walk from the harbour and the sea. Wells beach, with its famous white sand dunes and beach huts, is easily reached by a 15-minute walk through the pine wood. Laylands Cottage has recently undergone a complete renovation which is sympathetic to the historic heart of the house, but also encompasses all the conveniences for modern living.

Wells-next-the-Sea is an atmospheric Norfolk town set behind a small working harbour on the beautiful North Norfolk Coast. The Normans is a three storey holiday townhouse situated in the centre of Wells-next-the-Sea in Norfolk, just a 2-minute walk from the harbour and the sea. A high wall totally encloses the picturesque rear garden and patio area of this self catering luxury rental house. The house was originally built for the town's wheat merchant, who, it was rumoured, was also a smuggler. At the top of the holiday house there is a spy window, from which the merchant watched his boats come in and apparently the house had tunnels running beneath leading to various locations in the town.
