Customer reviews

Feedback from customers about The-Neep-End-Dufftown-Morayshire includes:

"This cottage is lovely spacious and well equipped. The owners live next door and are helpful and friendly. Our dogs loved the big enclosed garden and country walks just the other side of the gate. By far the best thing was sitting in the lounge sipping wine and gazing at the fantastic scenery. Idyllic for sure!"

"The Neep End is a fantastic cottage situated about a 5 minute drive from Dufftown. Pete and Rena (owners) genuinely couldn't have been friendlier to us on our stay. The accommodation is large and fitted out with everything you could possibly need. It has 3 large bedrooms with plenty of cupboard space in each a large bathroom with a separate shower unit plus a second toilet which is essential if your staying as part of a large group. The dining kitchen is absolutely huge with loads of cupboard space and lots of pots pans and utensils. The living area at the front of the house is large and comfortable with great views over the hills where you can regularly see wild deer buzzards and other local wildlife. There is a gas barbecue out the front along with garden furniture and plenty of grass for kids or pets to play. Next door the owners have 3 dogs and numerous chickens’ ducks and a turkey. We hardly noticed or heard them but Rena was more than happy to take our child in to feed the animals and clap the dogs that were very friendly. The location itself is great if you fancy visiting either of the 7 distilleries in Dufftown or the many more on the whiskey trail. Dufftown itself has a large convenience store a petrol station plus many take always and pubs so everything that may be required is available locally and there is a large 24 hour Tesco about half an hour away in Keith. There are tons of activities for all ages in the surrounding area all within an hours drive from the cottage - these include: plenty of walking (Ben Rinnes is just up the road) fishing cycling Aviemore Rothiemurcass estate Kingussie Wildlife Park falconry centre aquarium Landmark Elgin - which has a large leisure centre bowling and cinema numerous boat trips on the Moray coast to see the local wildlife and plenty of gorgeous beaches (if you get the weather). Or you could just sit in the front garden with a glass of wine and enjoy the great views. I would definitely recommend this cottage to all ages whether its a family or other groups there are plenty of things to do in the area to keep everybody happy. My only advice is to be organised before hand write down everything that you want to see or do in the area as well as their locations. Take a good map or in car navigational device to get you there and be prepared to change your plans to something else if the weather doesn't suit."
